WELLINGTON: The much anticipated opening of the Aerotech Connector happened early Thursday afternoon.

After delays from an earlier planned opening due to material supplies not arriving on time (poles and signage that were safety necessities for the Connector) they were all completed so it was time to open.

The province, with Minister Fred Tilley, MLA Brian Wong, and Sackville-Bedford-Preston MP Braedon Clark had a ribbon cutting in mid August to mark its completion.

The official opening to the public had been planned and touted as early September before the delays happened.

Some residents were excited to see the Connector finally open, thus making their trek to work and from work home in the evenings remarkably quicker as it avoids the bottle-necking in Fall River at rush hour.

In it The Laker News is the first official public vehicle to take a drive on the Connector, joined by Tilley and Wong (videographer Matt Dagley was in the car too).
